Mermaids Tail

Honestly, I think these guys look super cool. Got in the spring and did great indoors all summer and through the fall. Now, I am starting to find evidence of "scorching" on some ends; like the tail part is turing brown; but only little spots. Must do more research to see what is happening and what I need to be changing OR is this a natrual progression of this cacti?
